# Tips from dashanddishes:

01 -
  • Uses only a handful of ingredients you probably have in your freezer or pantry
  • Ready in fifteen minutes start to finish no cooking required
  • Completely customizable for whatever fruit or syrup you love best
  • Naturally gluten free and easily made vegan with simple swaps
  • One of my go to desserts for summer barbecues or impromptu backyard hangs and it always disappears fast
02 -
  • Packed with vitamin C and antioxidants thanks to the fruit
  • Low in fat and naturally gluten free so nearly everyone can enjoy
  • Can be made ahead by prepping the fruit and keeping it ready in the freezer
03 -
  • Never let the shaved ice sit too long before adding the toppings. I learned the hard way that the texture becomes dense if you wait
  • If using a blender, pulse in short bursts and stir between pulses for the fluffiest ice
  • Try infusing your syrup with basil or mint for a fresh herbal note on really hot days
